Artist's Description

Light beams passing through a biconcave or diverging lens. This simulation shows parallel beams of monochromatic light striking a diverging lens. Notice how the rays diverge to the right of the lens. Such lenses create a virtual focus on the left of the lens (same side as object). The virtual focus is found by extending the diverging rays backwards until the intersect.

I am an artist based in Canberra, the capital city of Australia. I started working as a science illustrator in 1981. I studied graphic design in the late 70s. Then I worked in traditional hospital based medical illustration. Pen and ink and water colour.
